I’M SMRT Productions’ New Launch

After weeks of hard work, I’M SMRT Productions’ new website has finally here! Check it out! Notice a lot of red? That’s because I was trying to bring a sort of Chinese feel to this website. After all, Chinese-New-Year is just a month away. It’ll be available just in time. However, as a note, this template was not especially made for Chinese-New-Year, and I probably won’t be changing it any time soon. I just hope you don’t fine that there’s too much red that it hurts your eyes.

The new I’M SMRT Productions’ website is powered by Wordpress as a blogging and content management tool. You might ask why I decided to change the layout after not too long ago? It’s just because the last website was plain HTML built using Macromedia DreamWeaver and it was just becoming a plain to update. Now that I have a template, everything can be consistent with less effort. If you are looking for the old website, you can find it here.

The template for this website wouldn’t have taken me so long if I knew PHP and CSS really well. Wordpress relies mostly on PHP scripts to help with the blog postings and such. It’s difficult to explain. Ok. Fine. I’ll be honest with you - I don’t know what’s going on - haha. Anyway, this is the first time that I have made a website that depended on CSS so much. I still have not mastered it yet, but I have learned a lot more than what I knew before by working on this website. I pretty much learned it on my own by looking at other’s people’s code to see what they did and its results.

In the end, it was very fun working on this website. For some of the nights, I didn’t even go to sleep until 1:00am when I had to get up at 6:00am to go to work (and now, I have “natural” eyeshadow under my eyes). I was very dedicated to working on this website, and I hope that you will still enjoy coming to visit once in a while to see what’s new. Also, now that I am on my co-op workterm, I will have more time in the evenings to work on new projects.

Please note that for some reason, this website’s links doesn’t really align that well when browsing with IE6. It works better with IE7, and firefox.
